There are two ways to install PPF onto any vehicle. The first way delivers the best protection. We hand lay bulk material onto the entire panel, which allows us to wrap the edges of the PPF providing a truly seamless look with no visible edges or seams. The second way to protect your vehicle which still provides excellent protection. We use PPF that is precision cut to match all of the vehicles leading edges (example below). Unlike most companies that install pre-cut kits, we cut all our own kits in house using a state of the art program and plotter that was designed by PPF experts. Paint Protection Film (PPF) FAQ

Will PPF hurt my paint?

No. Paint protection film will not affect properly cured OEM finishes. It can be removed years later, leaving a smooth finish behind. If your vehicle has been repainted please inform us so we can recommend the proper curing period before applying the film.

What is Paint Protection Film?

PPF is a urethane film that will protect any painted surfaces from chips, scratches and scuffs. It is commonly applied to bumpers, hoods, fenders, and it can also be applied to rocker panels, door edges, rear bumper luggage areas and any other painted surfaces of your vehicle that you want to protect.

What is Clear Bra?

Many people also know PPF as clear bra in reference to the "car" bra. The main difference is clear, and now you can drive down any road with confidence without having to worry about damage due to rock chips, bugs and other flying debris.

What type of PPF do you use?

Here at Joey’s Illusion Auto Body & Paint we only use VentureShield™ which is manufactured by 3M™. Did you know that there are over 200 3M™ products already on every vehicle today, what’s one more? One that will help protect your investment.

How long does it take to install?

It depends on the amount of coverage. A basic kit which includes bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors. The application process takes between three and four hours. The reason we can accomplish this, is because we use precision cut kits to maximize our productivity. Because of this we have two appointment times per day, 8am and 1pm these times make it convenient for our customers.

Do I have to do anything special to care for my PPF?

Just wash and polish it like your regular paint. Micro fiber rags and mild, detergent free, soaps are the best to use and can be purchased at almost any local automotive stores. Washing your vehicle regularly will ensure that bugs and other debris won’t permanently stick to your PPF. No harsh chemicals or abrasives should be used.
